Why write in hypertext? Now, hyperlinks have been made so banal in the web, that the question would seem almost obsolete. But there is more to hypertext than hyperlinks: A hypertext allows to make a document's structure explicit, and hence make the structure of the argumentation therein potentially more understandable. Moreover, the finer granularity of hyperdocuments makes collaborative writing more practical. These two characteristics make hypertext a choice technique for the elaboration of a tool for computer-assisted deliberation.
